We develop a growth trajectory for each technology venture.  For one venture it may be optimal to work towards Series A venture capital funding, with subsequent progression through the funding pipeline. For another, venture value may be maximised through the pursuit of alternative options such as technology licensing, strategic partnership, joint venture development, or revenue driven growth. 

These strategic trajectory choices also influence emergence from stealth mode.  The observation that companies are bought, not sold, is spot on.  Emergence from stealth mode enables exposure to create market profile, drive revenues, and create demand from venture capitalists, private equity investors, or corporate acquirers.
